Inkwell is the first release from 4Worlds, a small independent software studio building tools that respect the people who use them.
There's no cloud, telemetry, accounts, or subscriptions. Just software you own, on hardware you control.
We ship tools we'd want to use ourselves.
We believe the best tools are quiet, fast, and permanent. In this age of rapid acceleration, the most important narratives are usually the ones least talked about. That includes privacy.
The sovereignty thesis
Each app in the 4Worlds suite owns a verb:

Buy to own
Inkwell is free to use. All editing features, all themes, all of it.
PDF and HTML exports require a one-time Pro license. Not a subscription. Not a "plan". One payment, yours forever. The license lives as a signed file on your machine — no server needs to be online to verify it.
We believe in pay-once software. If the company behind your tool disappears, your tool should keep working. Inkwell does.
